Greyslater is a Chicago-based eco-boutique dedicated to supporting local artisans, small businesses, and manufacturers of made in the USA products. Founded in 2011 by friends Katya Siddall and Natalie Slater, Greyslater features hand-picked, sustainably-made reusables that are as fun as they are functional.
Katya and Natalie met in 2011 and quickly became a modern Odd Couple. With a background in finance, Katya appreciates a great suit, whereas Natalie can often be found in gym shoes and a vintage Iron Maiden t-shirt. After sharing an office, they quickly bonded over their love of donuts, lady wrestlers and Earth-friendly products that actually look cool.
As different as they may appear, Natalie and Katya share a passion for sustainable, stylish products - especially when they're made in the USA. This passion has driven the two to cultivate a collection of home goods, personal care products and lunch items that meet their strict standards. They decided early on to only choose products that everyone can love--not just the already environmentally conscious--with an emphasis on functionality and outstanding design.
We're committed to supporting local manufacturers, including small, independent craftsmen, and only offer items that are made in the USA. Whether our products are being used to reduce your carbon footprint, save money, or just for their good looks, you can feel great about your purchase knowing that it was made by someone who really cares - not pumped out of some overseas factory.
Not your average retailer, we're willing to make a smaller profit if it means working with thoughtful manufacturers, offering superior-quality products, and taking care of our employees. We ship our orders in recycled packaging, including cereal boxes and used packing materials donated by local businesses. We keep our team lean and not-so-mean, so we can react quickly to customer requests and give our vendors timely feedback.
We believe that by offering quality products that people will love using, we can help our customers change their buying behaviors, reduce their waste, and save some money doing it!
